Christmas DIY With Essential Oils: How to Make Your Own Lip Gloss!

Make Lip Gloss with Essential Oils

It’s getting close to Christmas…is there anyone on your list you’re still not sure what to get? Or perhaps you’re having a party and still looking for some activities to spice up the evening? Why not do a Christmas DIY with Essential Oils?!

I used this recipe for DIY lip gloss before with some of my sisters and cousins and it was a hit! They had so much fun making their own lip gloss!

It is so quick and easy to make. As far as ingredients, a little goes a long way so you won’t have to break the bank on supplies here. And you can personalize these to make awesome gifts! Or if your guests are making them to take home they can get creative with their own labels.

Here’s what you need:

Empty lip gloss tubes

Olive oil (Extra light gives it more of a clear, glossy finish)

Essential oil (Peppermint, Grapefruit, Lime, Tangerine and Vanilla are great choices)

Blank labels

Clear Packing Tape

Step One: First, fill the tubes 3/4 of the way with olive oil. The tubes I use hold about 13ml, so you only need about 10ml of olive oil per container of lip gloss.

Step Two: Next, add 1-2 drops total of essential oil to the lip gloss tube. Shake well.

Step Three: Label the lip gloss with a name, the ingredients, and the ‘creator’, as I like to call the person who made it.

Step Four: Before peeling the label off the label paper, cover it with a layer of clear packing tape. This gives the label a waterproof covering. And you’re done!

It’s just that easy! If you’re looking for a last minute gift or activity this is an easy go to that won’t require much more from your holiday fund. My cousins were talking about how much they enjoyed this Christmas DIY for months!
