If you’re looking for a DIY to moisturize your skin this winter try
our recipe for homemade dry skin salve! It’s inexpensive to make and takes less than 30 minutes. Let your skin look and feel great this winter!
As a mother, I am constantly washing my hands, especially with kids. They always seem to be carrying illnesses around, sneezing, coughing and just spreading germs everywhere!
In the winter, the air leaves my hands very dry but I still need to wash them. What a dilemma right? I’m sure there are many of you moms out there with the same problem. I set out to find a recipe that kept my hands moisturized and smooth, without leaving an oily residue.
This recipe is great! The ingredients are natural, organic and blend well together. It can be made without essential oils but I add some that are good for skin. And they make the aroma amazing! I used Frankincense and Lavender due to their skin-nourishing properties, their scent and because they are safe to use on children. Sometimes my kids will get dry skin in the winter too. This recipe is safe for all ages!
2 tbsp Trauma oil (Substitutes: Avocado Oil, Baobab seed oil)
1 1/5 tbsp Coconut Oil
2 tbsp Jojoba Wax
1 tbsp Beeswax
1 tbsp Palm Kernel Oil
1/2 tbsp Organic Honey
7 drops Frankincense
10 drops Lavender
I use a double boiler to make this salve. The ingredients need to be melted together in order of thickness so they will mix well. The essential oils go in last. Click here for a video tutorial on this amazing recipe for your dry skin this winter!
